(Q) How do I get and keep its golden-yellow color?

= The signature golden-yellow color is driven mainly by light. Under moderate-to-high light, Golden Lloydiella develops its brightest, most vivid golden-green tones; in lower light, it tends to lean greener and can grow leggy and stretched. The newest growth shows the best color. So for that eye-catching golden pop, give it strong light — it's one of the very few plants that brings a genuine yellow-gold to the aquascape, a beautiful, unusual contrast against the greens and reds of most other plants. An occasional dose of liquid fertilizer helps keep it vigorous and colorful.

(Q) Can I grow it submerged, emersed, or outdoors?

= This is one of the most versatile plants you can grow. It thrives fully submerged in aquariums as a colorful mid-to-background stem plant, grows emersed (above water) in paludariums and terrariums, and outdoors it makes a wonderful fast-spreading "spiller" for pots, water gardens, and pond margins, trailing and creeping horizontally. Although it's naturally an emersed/marginal plant, it adapts well to long-term submerged life, so it's equally at home underwater or out in the open air. (Q) It dropped leaves after I planted it underwater, and does it need CO2?

= Because it's naturally grown emersed (above water), Golden Lloydiella may drop or melt some of its emersed leaves as it transitions to submerged growth in your aquarium, then grow new leaves adapted to underwater life. This transition is completely normal — don't discard it; keep it planted, be patient, and fresh submerged growth follows. On CO2: it has a moderate requirement when submerged, so while it can grow without CO2 in good light, adding CO2 helps it grow more vigorously and hold its golden color underwater. Strong light plus (optionally) CO2 gives the best submerged results.
