⚠️ Before you add it: Like all natural driftwood, a new piece may release tannins that tint the water a light tea colour — harmless, and actually welcomed in shrimp and blackwater setups. To reduce it (and help the wood sink), soak or gently boil the driftwood first; fresh pieces often float until fully waterlogged, so weigh it down or anchor it to a rock/slate base until it stays put.

💡 How to attach moss: Push moss into the twig forks and along the branches — the fine growth alone will usually hold it. For a neater result, wrap loosely with cotton thread or fishing line, or dab a little cyanoacrylate (super) glue gel at the base. In a few weeks the moss grabs on and the thread can be removed.
