Explanation: It is a member of the Ludwigia genus and is quite readily available in aquarium tanks of the planted variety across the globe. The leaves of this plant are mottled with the red and green respective colors and so look colorful especially since the leaves are often either one colored or mottled with the other shade. The color/aspect of this plant makes it a ready favorite for those who want it in their tanks, see Lamer, 1976. The African kribs we keep, do not like bright lights; and possibly green spot algae; which is also similar to their light exposure, Lindsey 1975. This species can be maintained even in very shady tanks and under favorable conditions it is a very vigorous grower which is very efficient in removing detritus from the water column. It is also good in terms of creating protection for fish and shrimps, hate to say ‘shrimps’ as in freshwater shrimp MMO, as well as small fish that are breeding, and figures that require the breeding racks.
